Vintage Smoke @ Casa Monte Cristo Sauti

As nice and large cigars rounds, so I guess a more intimate "setting" for cigar enjoyment. Ideally, with good friends with whom the discussions are at least as interesting as the cigars. One such friend Andreas aka Sauti is for me. From the originally shared cigars passion that has brought us together a few years ago, has become a very valuable friendship developed. Accordingly, I was looking forward to the agreed common evening last Saturday. So I packed up a few cigars and interesting documents and my first joint in the Smoke "Casa Sauti" driven. The talks were so entertaining that we believe it could have it was well after midnight when we first saw on the clock. All photos (except that of himself) Andi has made - including that I had forgotten my digital camera. I am looking forward to the next evening together!
comrades we have Don Candido 505 (pre Embargo) and Davidoff Chateau Margaux (late 1970s). we have started with the lower Don Candido.

already promised the cold draw very earthy flavors with a touch of "old cellar. The flame was adopted as with the Davidoff impressively well. The very first (admittedly powerful) train brought a lot of punch which did not surprise us both as expected in the intensity. To the cigar not to "over power" we turned right at a slower and more cautious smoke technique which is also generally recommended for vintage cigars - especially for thin ring gauge. An old lady will finally be treated with caution. After several moves, the cigar remained strong but the flavors took over the command. The primary flavors were very earthy ("Old Cellar"), dry wood, pepper and straightforward tobacco flavor. In the last third for a section was added or a subtle sweetness. Despite age and size of that ring gauge cigar she stayed until the last train and full of interesting flavors. An incredible cigar, which still has some more years to mature / is not nearly as remarkable was an indication that she was already on the peak. I agree with Min Ron Nee's description of Don Candido cigars in general - monumental. Others are so Don Candido cigars on the market as well as vintage collectors / aficionados always in demand. Here are some pictures of the box which to see before were http://montehiba.blogspot.com/2010/06/don-candido-505-506.html .
Don Candido 505 (pre embargo)
The cold draw was already the structure of the aroma of the Davidoff Chateau Margaux is very different than that of Don Candido. Even the start was (of course, because of the format difference) is entirely different. Only after the first few turns, or about 0.5 cm, opened the flavors. Although the Davidoff cigarettes smoked by me from the Chateau Series each have their own merits had so this was for me like typical Davidoff (zumind. Chateau Series). I think this distinctive characteristics I would recognize in a blind tasting. What is noticeable already in the cold drawing Davidoff during smoking slightly floral / fruity and nutty. The flavors were unlike the Don Candido not as a power but was completely fine (again, the gentle smoke technique helpful for optimal enjoyment). We also detected a hint of milk / cheese. The Puro was creamy, smooth and all ingredients were in perfect balance. Both cigars were never sharp or round and the burn was perfect (it was only when Andi's Davidoff necessary now and then correction). Overall, the cigar increases markedly from first to second period and remains at End to this high level. This cigar should be smoked in the next few years or so they kept very slowly or hardly developed because it is very good now and no evidence can be seen on a further increase. My copy had a slightly tougher but a train without being disagreeable. would only be collected more quickly condensate and the cigar has to be put away before a track (in order to benefit not end up spoiling yet) as the one ev. Here are some pictures of the box which could be seen already http://montehiba.blogspot.com/2010/05/davidoff-chateau-margaux.html
